- Applications are closed for the 2012 summer program.
The form is in PDF format. You may fill the form out on yor computer. Save the file as your last name-your first name.pdf. *
- Once ready to submit your application, email the file to the email address reu@materials.cmu.edu).
- Official academic transcript mailed to the mailing address above.
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member at your college or university who can account for your academic and research abilities, experience and potential emailed or mailed to the address above.

- Complete application packets (transcript, application, letters of recommendation) will be considered as they arrive. Applications received after Feb 27 will be considered on a space available basis only. Those selected for the program will be notified by email.

| Eligibility: |

- Students majoring in chemistry, physics, or any engineering discipline.
- Students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines.
- Students from institutions with limited resources for research (4 year colleges, liberal arts institutions, etc).

| All Students |
- Applicants should have a strong interest in pursuing a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline.
- This program is open to full-time undergraduate students who will be graduating fall 2012 or later. Students who are planning to receive a Bachelor's degree before August 2012 are ineligible.
- Participants are prohibited from taking courses or working while participating in the program. Program participants will be expected to work 40 hours/ week and will not be permitted to start the program at a later date.
