14- Subcellular Interactions with Nanomaterials.

Advisor: K. Dahl.

Utilizing developed facilities for the study of Subcellular Interaction with Nanomaterial Technologies (SCINT), the UG student will examine the role of different nanomaterials within cells to examine toxicology, cellular phenotype, and localization. Materials of interest include iron species in collaboration with the McHenry and Tilton groups and carbon nanomaterials with the Islam group. Techniques for this project include cell culture and transfection, live cell fluorescence imaging, flow cytometry, protein analysis as well as material manipulation and characterization.
